Concerning the whole battery thing (additional cost after 2 years, etc), does anyone know about this with the now discontinued 4 gig version? I do not own an iPhone but am considering it. I do not own an ipod or anything else irelated. I just like the technology and design. That said, if I purchase a 4 gig model now while supplies last, I wonder what will happen in 2-3 years when i need a new battery and have to send the phone out for the battery replacement? any thoughts?

4 or 8G uses the same battery. Regardless, when the battery does go u have to send them back the phone to replace the battery because it is soldered in the board.
