So I added my school website as a bookmark on my home screen and I was wondering if it was at all possible to set it up so that when I get an email through my school website, it would send me an alert? My sister has a blackberry that can do that so I was hoping I could do that on my phone. I know there is a notification center under general settings, but I am not sure if I am able to control what goes in there or not; and the little control I do have is very limited in terms of choosing to cancel the ones that have already been selected in the notification center.

Only thing I can think of is you will have to setup your school email as an email account on your device. Then you can easily have it in your notifications.
Look around for a support area for email, setting, etc... If not you should contact the IT department at your school.
