adding a phone number while on a call?

ok so what do i do if i want to add a phone number while im on a call? I bring up the keypad and put in the number but the nothing happens, can i save the number or is it just not possible on the iPhone? Btw im posting on my iPhone =)

Save what number? The number you are talking to? Or a number they give you? You can't add while on a call, but obviously the person who you are talking to will be in your recents.

The ghetto way would be to just switch to speaker phone and open up the notes program and save it that way.

i'm pretty sure you can just hit the home key and then go into contacts and add the number. i was able to look up information while on a call so i would imagine you can add it.

well my razor could why can't the iPhone do it. There's not always a pen and paper avaliable but I guess the notes way is just gonna have to do it for now.

... that's the way I have done it a few times. Except the fact there is no copy & paste option almost guarantees you will have to write it down eventually.

It would be nice on a call to open contacts and add a new one, or go to notes and jot down the info and then cut and paste or copy to a contact listing.
