I miss it. I still have to tote a small, cheapo netbook to access sites when I am on the go. Sucks.

Apple didn't just block flash. They blocked browser plugins. This also effects things like silverlight.

All claims about the reason are speculation.

Minor point, but I believe it's actually, stop supporting "further" development. The existing solution will remain. Also Adobe is focusing on Air as well as HTML5. Does iOS support Air?
That's a very minor point. For all intents and purposes, Flash is officially dead now. No future in mobile = no future period.

And yes, Adobe makes an Air packager for iOS.

Thank goodness! That's just one less ill-attempt an Android fanboy can use to try to justify his phone. Now I just have to hear the screen size and open OS debates now...

Does safari on ios support html5?

I think the upgrade to 11 is about a month old and we were running 10 for about 2 years. By that standard then, a future event another 2 years away in the mobile industry is not "very" minor. But I guess waiting 15+ months for the next iPhone gives you a different sense of time.

What future event are you referring to? Do you think there will be any new Flash content 2 years from now after this announcement?

That's a good test in objectivity. Think about the number of desktop flash clients with continued support and answer your own question about "new" flash content.

Coupled that thought with the fact that 11 is under a month old and then reply at how many months before you expect there to be less than 50% the current number of flash sites viewable by Android.

Yeah, dead and "very" minor are closer to over statements vs under.

Alright, relax dude. We'll see. All I'm saying is that I think Adobe's announcement will kill off Flash much faster than 4 years of shunning from Apple has.

Definitely agree that this will hasten transition to HTML5.
