i use to like these guys, but this just shows me that they're retarded. not because they're taking down facebook, which they will, but because of the reason. everyone complains about the privacy issue, but what they neglect to even research is that if you only change your freakin settings, you would help any privacy. like my father says "try to help yourself". these guys are just a bunch of degenerates
I highly doubt they'll beable to do anything to FB servers which are powerful enough to host millions at any given time. DDOS attacking FB servers wont even slow them down.
Don't they dare attack Facebook! But if they do, it won't come crashing down. I actually wouldn't be surprised if the government stepped in. And this is why the hired Gehot, time for work!

The mere fact that they have announced it in the fashion they have and given Facebook the (well, uneeded) warning forces me to call BS. From the limited encryption knowledge I have from a few college classes, there are encryption techniques which can be created that take the most powerful computer created (or that can be created) millions of years to decipher based on possible combination math. Being the social superpower that they are, I am sure Facebook already had in place the necessary encryption to keep these fools out, and if they didn't, you can bet they will now. The vulnerabilities found in those articles were as a result of poor security - not powerful hacking Rubicons

Give me a break its Facebook not the nuclear submarines patrolling the oceans. Worst case scenario you have to call people or text message for a couple days until Facebook restores their servers from the 100's of Backups I am sure they have....

serious: it does actually make facebook look bad, unreliable, and unstable. many will leave be it for one reason or another, but that's why hackers shut down companies like that. just think of sony. sony as a console system will most likey be no more in the next 4 or 5 years, allowing for sega to come back.

Hey, of course the 'give me a break' was not at you, just at the media hype of it all. This hacking group has told the public that their goal is to protect privacy, so an attack by them would not result in the compromising of your personal information; that is, if they are smarter and more powerful than the top supercomputers and can actually get a lick of information. Yes, but in every example given, the hackers were successful due to the finding of an exploit or a way around the front door which is guarded by heavy duty bouncers. Facebook should have a team (probably a large one) devoted to attempting to hack their own servers. Companies with that much personal and confidential data would have such a team in place. We all know Facebook employs the best of the best, and thereforee it is my firm belief that anything these anonymous goofs can do, they have did, patched, and moved on. I can make fancy computer voiced videos also..
Because Facebook is so madly popular and they would want to investigate. Plus hacking it they could get information. And geohot is a staff member of Facebook.
