any optometrists know if looking at these tiny letters on this bright screen is going to cause any damage? After using Safari for like 15 minutes, I can clearly see a freckle on the tip of my nose, but other things are blurry. It's only for a minute or so, but I don't know what the long-term effects might be.

that's just your eye muscles taking time to adjust focus for things farther away

Might be normal. How long is your nose and how big is the freckle? *)

prolonged tensing of the eye muscles over time can cause damage. This isn't just the iPhone, its anything, tv, computer, normal phone, whatever.

Just don't stare at the phone for 30 minutes wihtout blinking, looking away, and giving your eye a chance to relax every so often.

Lighten up and stop being a hypochondriac! The phone can't harm you.

Yeah, the screen is not that small, maybe you have bad eye sight because the screen is pretty much the whole thing.
