I read an article on ESPN.com that MLB players that had baseball games were sending their wives, girlfriends, etc. to wait in line for them. Justin Verlander(pitcher for the Detroit Tigers) sent someone to wait in line and get him one. Right before he went out on the field to pitch in a game he got the call that they got him one. There are a TON of athletes that have them. If I can find the link to the article I will post it.

I got my daughter to wait in line for my iPhone by paying off her ticket. When I arrived at the store at 5:30pm, she was number 8 in line. I began relaying news stories from the outside world regarding the iPhone. When I mentioned Wozniak was also waiting in line, the guy in front of me said he had dinner last week with Steve Jobs but he wasn't about to ask him for a phone... I was thinking, who the heck is this guy? They then called him into the store for his turn to get a phone. The guy behind me said, "See ya later, Ham." Then it hit me... I said to my daughter, "Do you know who that was you were standing behind all day?" It was MC Hammer. Just seems funny to go from megastar with full blown entourage to having to wait in line with the masses. Well maybe funny isn't the right word. He seemed very cool and low key, once we saw him again in the store.

I actually worked for mc hammer for the 2L2Q tour... Passing out flyers before the concert. Then we got to hang out and meet him before he went on. GLC was the opening act. We met them also. Everybody was really nice. Hammer was in a flight jump suit thing. He actually said "it's Hammer Time" before he left to go on stage!
