Any stores selling before 5pm?

Good question, my guess is that they are selling at 5 as well, but please report back once you hear from Best Buy!
When the WiFi version came out, both of my local BB's didn't get them on the UPS truck 'til right before they opened that morning. The Apple Dude at one of the stores said he wouldn't be surprised if the 3G didn't come in until their 3PM delivery today.
yes, I'll probably get out of work around 2 or 3pm and head over to my local Apple Store. I figure the Apple store will get more units than the Best Buy will. If I don't get one there - there are 2 more Best Buys to try.
A friend at work doesn't think there will be a shortage. His reasoning is that the iPad has been out for awhile now and that most people want to buy the "cheaper" versions anyway. I'm hoping he is right, but I'm pretty sure they will sell out of the 3G units before too long.....

If you live near a Best Buy, I would take a chance that it might be a rogue store and might not know better! 
Just called my local Best Buy and they confirmed that they're also selling it at 5pm.. first come first serve, and that they have limited quantities. =X

Yes, the Apple Stores have more stock but there are less of them. So, most of the time the Apple Store is your best bet unless you can find a remote Best Buy located near some Omish farmers. 
I just went over to the Best Buy and the manager in the Computer Dept where they are selling them said he had only 4 and they were all the 64GBs. He will not sell any before 5, start a list or anything. No one was in line yet. Having only the 64GB will limit the interest some but be there at 5 and take your chances. I will go over around 4:30 and see what happens.
Wow that's not very good for best buy I wonder why the poor supply. Maybe the Apple stores are loading up like they did the 3GS and sent a minimal supply to best buys
I was really surprised when he said he only had 4. He said of course I could order it from their web site and it would be delivered to me. If I wanted to order it I would have done so from the Apple Store.
I went to the Apple store here at 4:45 and there was a line with about 75 people. There were about two dozen Apple workers on hand and the typical cheering and clapping and stuff all happened at 5:00. They let in a dozen at a time and when I left at 5:15 there were only a couple dozen people left outside. It was mayhem and it was awesome.
I stopped by my local Apple store around 4:10 and there were about 25ish people in line. I figured what the heck I'll stand in line and maybe I'll get one.
Long story short I was out of the store by 5:15 with my 64GB iPad and it seems like they still had plenty left. About 100+ people in line total.

I decided to go to my nearest Apple store as well. I go there at 3:30pm and there were around 25-30 people in line. By the time the store opened there were well over 100 people in line (probably closer to 150). I was in and out in 5 minutes - got a 64Gig 3G and an Apple case. I've been loving it every minute since I got it!
Great for you. I am on the 'waiting list' at the closest Apple Store. Supposedly when they get a shipment in they will email me and hold one for me. I don't know how many are ahead of me so who knows how long it will take.
