anyone know of laptop remote security software ?

I use my laptop all the time and take it a lot of places with me, i am wondering if there is any software that i could remotely find it if lost or stolen ?, an example is the online software using the bitdefender. from the bitfinder website you can remotely track your laptop, sound an alarm and set an extra pincode so a theif cant even get to the login screen.
can anyone help me with similar software ?

I'm assuming you're looking for a free one since you don't want bitdefender? If so, try your luck here, hopefully you can stumble upon something.

If you have a Mac, I'm certain there you can track it using Find My Mac, which I believe is a part of iCloud, but I am not sure if it's free or paid for. It's very reliable for any iOS or Mac devices, though.
