I own a Zune, let me say, it's pretty cool. I basically just bought it because I wanted to set myself apart from the pack. Well let me just say....iPhone does it too! haha.

The big screen is one of the main reasons...it's still a neat device, nowhere near an iPod killer that MS wanted it to be.

Microsoft needs to stick to what Microsoft makes money at, software. They pulled it off with the Xbox 360 mostly due to beating everyone else to market with the next gen console, but just about everything else they touch turns to dirt. I'm on my second 360 because, you guessed it, the first one burned up... right at the 1 year mark. I would go PS3 if more games were available for it, and it didn't cost so damn much for something I rarely play.

I digress.

Microsoft sucks at hardware, they always have and always will.

the store i work at is new.. opened up in december... we have sold 1 zune since doors open... and probably 50 ipods.... its a small store and we focus on tvs but thats just walk in customers browsing

My brother-in-law replaced his small mp3 player with a Zune and he loves it. He recently bought a second fir his 13 yr old son, my nephew. He says the deciding factors for him were the screen size and ease of operation. He does acknowledge that my iPhone is absolutely rockin, but it doesn't have the storage he needs (he actually uses about 25GB).

..and how did they come up with that name? ZUNE? wtf?

I own a Zune and I love it! My best friend bought one too and we share music and videos. I bought the Zune for the screen size, it was my first mp3 player and recommened by two different sales reps. at Circuit City.
I just got my iPhone at the end of July and love it too! Have not decided if I will get rid of the Zune, still carry both with me. I really have to admit I like the Zune software better than iTunes. Beside I haven 't taken the time to add much music to iPhone yet.
Going to Vegas in Sept so trying to add videos to iPhone, if I figure that out I will probably leave Zune at home this time.

I love my zune and my iPhone. Zune marketplace sucks compared to iTunes but I like the zunepass. I like the zune hardware better than the iPod-we all have our preferences. I will say i love my iPhone and the zune isn't getting much use. If iPhone was 30 gb zune would be history
