Anyone seen the fake bad reviews at CNET.com?

iPhone is very obviously the best phone ever created for anyone who spends just five minutes playing with it. This site is usually a good place to read reviews but there are hundreds of reviews from people who have never even held an iPhone and reviewed it just based on other online reviews. The iPhone has a 6.5 average rating, what a joke! People say things like "The iPhone sucks, it doesn't even have flash and it has a small hard drive!" Umm hello, there are no cell phones that do flash and iPhone has the biggest hard drive** in the history of phones! It's like they're comparing iPhone to this imaginary perfect phone that doesn't exist yet (but soon will Can't CNET delete these stupid reviews?

It's not uncommon for review or opinion rating sites to be frequented by people who have never owned the device in question but instead have an agenda. Either it is to stuff the ballot with favorable reviews, or to bash it to drive the average lower. It is not uncommon for companies to hire people to do this.

Must be it. There are much much worse phones on the site with much better reviews. What sucks is that CNET.com is probably the most popular site for cell phone reviews and because of the idiots, iPhone looks like trash. I think CNET.com should just delete them all and start over now that the phone is out. I mean, the thing was getting hundreds of reviews before it was even released, what the hell is that about?

The iPhone had bad reviews on cnet back as far as Feb. People were on saying it was such a horrible phone and going on and on about how it was hard to use and no one even had the phone. Since the release of the iPhone the user rating had jumped much higher than its 2.9 it had a few months ago. But still people who don't have them will write bad reviews bc they still think their palm treo 600 is the greatest phone ever ... I agree cnet should reset their rating when a phone is actually released.

If by "flash" you mean a light source for the camera, there are camera's out there that do have a flash. I do agree though, that it certainly does not deserve a 6.5 or anything below 8.5.
