I updated my iPad Air yesterday after work, and it took 4 minutes to download. It installed quickly and it seems to have fixed my wifi and BT issues, which were numerous.
I started my ip6 last night and ran the install this morning.
At least it connected to the wifi right off the bat. My carrier is still a bit wonky, but not tested yet. It had 3 bars a moment ago, and the suddenly- 1. I haven't moved more that 6 inches with the phone.
8.0.1was the first update in a long time were it hurt performance. Here is hoping 8.1 fixes that.

Apple Pay worked, but its not any easier than swiping. Still have to confirm total and sign for it.

I didn't have to sign for anything. I clicked Passbook. Selected my card I wanted to use and the total showed on my phone and I used Touch ID to confirm and pay. I didn't physically have to sign anything.

What merchant? Having to confirm and sign defeats the purpose IMO the only thing is you don't need to have the card with you

Just updated to 8.1 on my IPhone 5. From download through install took 15 minutes. Flawless, so far. Not really noticing anything earth shattering in regards to new features. You would have figured they would have put in the feature to respond to texts from lock screen without needing to put in your password (i.e. Bite SMS).

If only. My guess for not doing that is for safety reasons / privacy.

Here is an incredible update. I have confirmed that you can reply to a text from the lock screen without putting in your password. Just swipe over the text to the left and a quick response box opens up at the top. Hallelujah!!!!!!!! It's finally here.

The good news is that my iPad 2 is up and running 8.1. The bad news, there goes my excuse for replacing it.

My battery has been draining very fast on iOS 8.1. I'm not sure what to make of it. I don't usually complain about battery. It took a small hit when I updated to iOS 8. Then another small hit on iOS 8.0.2. But 8.1 has been atrocious. Yesterday was horrible. Anyone else with a 5 or other iPhone having this issue?

I haven't noticed any increased battery drain on my Plus, but I'll try to keep an eye on it.

You're on a 5? Did you check to see if you qualify for the battery replacement via Apple?

I've taken a small hit to battery life upgrading to 8.1, Bluetooth is on all of the time so I can use Handoff and I'm sure that has an impact on battery life. As of right now, I have 80% left.
