J/k MAN, this is a real bite...... but, if you read the last sentence of the first paragraph (I think).....this phone is going to be designed for overseas use. We probably wouldn't even be able to import it and use it, even if we wanted to. Especially if the pre-inserted SIM card proves to be a reality.
eventhough i know Apple (been a user since the 80's) and their history with new products...i can't stop myself this time. i know Apple will release something 10x better in 6mo (or at least announce it) and yet i will be in line on friday. even if i KNEW beyond a doubt that they would drop the price in 6mo, i still couldnt wait. this phone is amazing. even if the 2nd gen will surpass this one, every time i look at what this iPhone has to offer...i know i won't be disappointed. plus, while all the smart people are waiting and saving their bucks for gen2, im at home playing with my iPhone this friday!

Well, the thing about technology (especially cell phones) is that if you're constantly waiting for the "next big thing", you'll always be waiting. You'll ALWAYS be waiting for the next big thing. Same thing goes for video game systems. I hate hearing ppl say "Oh, i'll just wait for the next one".....Right, and then there's gonna be another "next one", and so on, and so forth.
They might be planning on announcing the V2, but I don't think it can release by then. Think about it. iPhone, as we know it, was "announced" in January. June 29, we will get to see it in all its glory. Jan 2008, they might announce a V2 version of the iPhone. That means, it will will release later in the year, probably mid-year. Either way, it is just like any other smartphone, like the Treo. 600 comes out. crappy screen, and such. 650 comes out not too much later, screen is nice, but worked like crap, and not enough memory. 700 comes out, plenty of memory and EVDO, but crappily implemented, and so many problems. now 680/755 are out, and they have all the features that the previous models should have had. Difference is, Apple will not put out a crappy product, and they will remedy any problems, unlike Palm.
