Apps disappearing but really there?

since I upgraded to the 4s
I have discovered that a number of my apps didn't transfer correctly.

for instance , I tried to use "my radar pro" and couldn't find it on any of my app pages.
I then did a search and it was found and executed properly.
when I closed it, it went to the background.

this has happened to at least a dozen apps so far.

help is appreciated

Settings, general, reset, reset home screen. Might work. Or try doing a hard reset of the device.
