Are you getting the 5S, or waiting for the 6?

I've got the 4S, and now that I have the iPad mini I am not feeling like upgrading (my upgrade eligibility was 2mos ago) bc this iPad is serving all of my needs. I'd even go back to the flip phone if I could. I'm gonna wait on the iPhone 6 (I'm thinking it'll be bigger). But, I've had my eye on the Nokia 1020 that just came out. It's got the best camera in a smart phone yet, and I use the camera a lot. However, I'm really liking how when I add something on iPhone (calendar, etc) it goes automatically on my iPad, vice versa! This is an amazing feature! I love Apple.

I really wasn't trying to start an argument in this thread. I think it strange as well, but we all don't have the same wants and needs.
Sorry if my post came across provocative.

But say for instance, Apple released a "new" iPhone next week that was completely redesigned. BUT had the exact same specs of the iPhone 5.

My question is would the people who only upgrade with an aesthetic update buy this redesigned iPhone with the same specs as the previous version?

There is pretty much no chance of that happening. The 5S will have improved specs.

I want the new 5S, but my sister told me my mom said I can not get it because I got to save up for a car.

I'd rather have a shiny new iPhone. :D

Plus, it would have to be through AT&T cause they gotta swap upgrades.

Have had the 4S for almost 2.5 yrs and the headset speaker is going out. Just waiting for the release so I can upgrade. Just need to decide if I do it online through AT&T, Apple or go to Best Buy

Even with a fingerprint sensor and toothpaste dispenser I will wait until next year for the iPhone 6. Several reasons:

1. Giving up the jailbreak.
2. Having to buy all new accessories (I currently have a 4S) but then next year the iPhone 6 will probably have larger screen which means having to buy new accessories all over again.
3. Most importantly, I would have to wait a full 2 years again to qualify for AT&T upgrade. (Their Next plan is a ripoff)

I am overall disappointed in what is rumored for the 5S. There is little to entice me to upgrade outside of giving my 5 to my son so he can have a newer phone.

Apple is no longer pushing innovation with a 2 year cycle on major design change. The spec bumps are not that big a deal. Yes a faster processor is nice but not critical going from iPhone 5, better camera is always nice. Fingerprint scanner is cool with a lot of potential but given the slow development on Siri , I am skeptical we will see the potential of this utilized properly IMHO

Apple could have easily made a wider and slightly larger phone to enhance appeal...4.3/4.5 in form factor that is also wider. That would have been a big deal.

Also, I know the culture is not to help JB but leaving a backdoor for us with a wink/wink would be awesome.

The "S" model biggest attribute will be the new OS not the hardware. I hope Apple has something up its sleeve otherwise I don't see much here.
