I feel that Apple will strongly target Asia to market iPhone in a big way. Of course it will be launched in the US market initially, but at the same time will have special plans for Asia. There are some developments like Motorola's increased presense in Asia, fast improving economy of China and India helps me in this view. Do you also feel the same?

Yes I agree with you. iPod sales have gone up like anything in Asian markets specially markets like India, China. So with the experience of Asian market it can be assumed that Apple has a plan in place for Asian markets.

I’m sure they have a plan in place regarding launch and sales in Asia. I’m starting to wonder if Microsoft is going to be successful in beating Apple. The Zune is set for release during the holidays and they have already started on a phone.

It is difficult to predict the future. But going by the success rate of Apple products I am sure iPhone has a bright future ahead. I have found many have only appreciation in their eyes when they hear iPhone is coming.

Ya it will come to Asian market by 2008, but I think in India there is no phones in India which is contracted with a particular mobile service provider. So mostly iPhone will be open to all the service providers in India.

IMO, they will need to have an excellent plan to get the iPhone to really catch on in Asia. This is because there are so many phones over there, and their technology in phones is much better than almost anywhere else. This technology might even match that of the iPhone, so I don't think it'll catch on right away. With a good marketing plan, though, they could have great success. What that plan is, I don't know.
