I just looked at my bill on line -- WOW 160$ bucks. I got the phone 7-5-07
I did not make one call with it -- what a rip off they are - bty they have no support / customer service 24-7 LIKE THE BIG GUYS DO- also they claim " they have more bars in more areas then others -- HAHA right I have to go to the end of my driveway to get a bar to make a call...

I wouldn't say you signing up for wireless service, and getting charged regardless of the fact YOU chose to not make "one call with it", justifies AT&T as a complete rip off.

Just my 2 cents.

EDIT: Too add something that could possibly add a positive note for you, the minutes that you paid for roll over into next month. Something not all the "BIG GUYS" do.

Negatory on that one.

Rollover minutes don't start until the second month. They want to make sure you stay with them for longer than a month.

Bill --

I did not use the phone because I still have t-mobile - waiting for the contract to run out then port my number over to AT&T - It's too bad that Apple selected AT&T - I hope someone comes out with a unlock code:laugh2:

I just got my first bill... $266... They charge for the first and last month plus $50 activation fee plus $16 tax. I'm on a $100/month plan.

At first the way you spoke made it sound like just because you didn't make any calls, you expected AT&T for some reason to cut your bill. You signed up for that plan (and AT&T pro-rates charges) so it's really the figure you should of expected.

Oh and sorry about the rollover mistake, that logic makes sense now that I think about it.

My bill is $170.00 My plan is the basic plan with unlimited texting. I got my phone on July 20th, and this bill is due August 23rd. It's a little more than I expected, does this sound normal everyone? I just want to make sure I'm not being overcharged.

I've got you all beat. My bill wa $558.14!

I called in and an embarrassed representative admitted that someone had screwed up and charged me a $499.90 Wireless Internet Pay Per Use fee.

Double-Check your bill.

Part of your monthly routine will be going through your att bill and then calling them and getting credited for the overage. I do this every month. That and remembering where I get cell coverage.

That does sound high but of course hard to say. Just go through your bill page by page and if you don't understand something or it doesn't seem right give them a call. Every month I find several over charges.

Roam Gprs?

I've already paid my first bill which was 158.61.

I just received my 2nd bill which is 122.34. It charged me 22.25 for usage charges. I looked it up and it said I was using Roam GPRS and one session cost me 22bucks!?!?!?!

anybody have any idea what this is? I was out in the Hill Country on these dates, so I'm wondering if maybe I was out of the AT&T calling area.

But I called a Representative the weekend the iPhone was released and they told me that there is no Roaming within the US.

call att and get credited for the roaming. You have an unlimited data plan. I have to do that every month as they overcharge at least $40-$70 per bill. Imagine the thousands that don't check their bill...

I am currently in a chat with one of the AT&T reps. I prefer the chat over phone calls because I can retype everything that was told to me.

they weren't able to help me on the Tech Chat. So now I'm holding on the phone.

Alright. The lady told me that I was being charged the Roaming. But that baffled her since it is within the US. But the strange thing out of this is that the roaming supposedly took place in Pennsylvania. I've never been there!
I'm a longs way from there too!

So there are going to credit my account and she is going to submit this as a case because it has never happened before.

check last months bill very carefuly. The detailed bill is usually quite lengthy so it's easy to miss things. Good luck!
