For some strange reason I cannot send messges via my bellsouth.net account when I am away from my home. The message will say "cannot send", but as soon as I get home the message will send. I know this sounds crazy but I swear this is what is happening! Any ideas?

As part of a spam preventative measure, ISPs have made it so that Port 25, which is the port your emails go through on Bellsouth's servers when you're on their nerwork, is also blocked when you're not on their network. IE, trhing to send email from you're iPhone on EDGE, which uses AT&Ts network. When you get home the WiFi kicks on, and you're going through Bellsouth again. There's supposed to be a workaround, but I haven't been able to work it out as I too am on Bellsouth.

Alot of us have this problem. I don't think it's ISP specific.

Most of our workarounds are using other email accounts to send. Mine automatically sends through Gmail, even though I'll receive through Roadrunner.

If there's a workaround that actually lets you send through your original account, I'd like to hear it!

I've had success adding CWMX.COM as the SMTP server. It's also on the Cingular site as part of email setups because of the port issues. Try using it. it works well with my Charter.net account.
