Do you think the iPad will be available from Best Buy? I sure would like to take advantage of their zero interest for 18 months. But only if available at release.

Yep Banana is right on this one because I tried doing the same thing my wifey has a best buy card and I wanted to buy a new iMac and I had to wait like a week after they were released for Best Buy to get them although it just depends.

Always could have gotten the 12 months no interest through the Barclay card from Apple! :p

but 18 months from best buy is technically better...just lets you be lazy longer though
Nothing about being lazy at all. If I can get the money for 18 months and pay no interest. It is much better than taking it out of my savings and loosing that interest.

in your case it makes sense, but i have seen many younger people get one of those cards and put off the payments and then suddenly have to run around like crazy trying to find money to pay off their bill

i don't think that has as much to do with younger people as it does people buying things that they know they can't afford. If you can't afford to start making payments upon purchase chances are you won't be able to afford it in 18 months either.

a lot of young people don't realize that cant afford it, but think they can.
that's what I'm saying. The same can be said for people in their 30's and 40's. It's not just young people. I have friends that run out and buy a new toy when it comes out, throw it on a credit card and pay the minimum payment every month and struggle to pay that, and then end up paying more than double what the item is worth and are most likely still paying for it when they don't even have it anymore.

Unless you have a way to get high rates of interest, you are only saving around $15 bucks. Wouldn't be enough to entice me into a no interest plan. For $15 I wouldn't even fill out the paperwork...
