still having problems sending mail using edge on my brighthouse account. when on wi fi it's fine with the SMPT-server.cfl.rr.com, but on edge and switching outgoing to cwmx. com, i still have problems. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

anyone have brighthouse, (and central florida would be even better) that have been able to find a stable address on edge for outgoing mail using cwmx.com or other?

this has been going on for a month now. been reading that others are finding good stable solutions to their problems, but no one has mentioned brighthouse specifically that has found a stable mail out server.

have looked everywhere i can think of, including searches and other info here. still nothing that will work for my specific case.

suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

carl

I set the smtp server to:

smtp-server.tampabay.rr.com:587
Username: your full rr email address like, username@tampabay.rr.com
Password: type it in

This worked for me in Central Florida on both Wi-Fi and Edge

having problems sending mail using edge
I have the same situation with my pop3 email account charter.net here in Massachusetts. I can receive using both edge and my home wi network but can not send using edge. I am thinking of going to yahoo mail.

i happen to live in orlando and have brighthouse and previously worked for them as a service technician, now working for comcast in the same area doing internet tech support, check the FAQ's i know comcast has recommended port setting changes when off the comcast network whick using edge would be a good example of that

You can check your e-mail from another ISP by using one of two options. The first option is to setup an additional account in your e-mail application using the following settings:

Off-network POP3 Server: pop-server.cfl.rr.com

Off-network SMTP Server: Check with your alternate ISP for their SMTP Server name

Note: If you retrieve your e-mail from a computer other than your own, it will be removed from the server and loaded on to the computer you are using. To keep the mail on the server so that you can retrieve it again from your home machine, select the Leave Mail on Server option within your particular e-mail client. However, keep in mind that messages "expire" or are deleted from the server after 60 days.

The second option to check your Road Runner e-mail from another ISP is with Road Runner Web Mail. To learn how to use this service, select the Road Runner Web Mail - Using FAQ from the drop-down menu above.
