So why did I buy the big one? I can't mount it on my mac and I can't blue tooth it.... I hope they unlock some features soon or maybe we get our top hackers on it... or did I miss something and you can mount?

I could see making a big zip file and renaming it from .zip ti .jpg, then syncing it to a picture folder, but then I don't think I could get the "picture" back off at the office.

still, this phone is the coolest thing ever.

I think a lot of people are rethinking their purchase now that the "Newness" has worn off. The bluetooth problem, no mms, no infared port, the battery life and the 2 year contract with AT&T (when you got NOTHING free or discounted). Plus the fact that we were ALL (if not already) FORCED to become an AT&T customer. All of this to be beta testers at the charge of 600.00. I wonder why I keep feeling like Apple forgot to kiss me..M
Hi,
At first when looking at the phone and all adds it did not even crossed my mind that it could have such limitations. Oh well, lets just hope that Apple will improve that, otherwise the reception is good , haha

I would like for BT data transfer to come in the future... I spoke with an Apple rep over the phone and he explained that blue tooth is currently not supported. when I asked him if he knew anything about it coming in a future update he went on to tell me that they are not at liberty to discuss any future update plans regarding the iPhone or any of their products; then he transferred me to the legal department and a lawyer for Apple took down my information :(

Contacts Transfer

I was able to transfer contacts between my old cell phone and the iPhone with
Bluetooth. Worked well.

How were you able to transfer contacts from your old phone to your iPhone, this is a major probem for me

Thanks

Bloothooth PHONE BOOK Transfer

Hey,

Could you please tell me how you did that? I desperately need to transfer 300 phone numbers to my Pioneer radio from iPhone via Bluetooth. I just got my iPhone. I haven't performed any software updates on it, but it's not unlocked either. I'd appreciate any help on the unlocking 'thing' it as well.

Thanks!

I don’t think they have to disable anything on the phone when it comes to such transfers. They “found the way” to disable users to share purchased music on iTunes , so what’s the deal? What bothers me that they advertise iPhone being a “revolutionary phone” in the meantime it’s missing standard futures that other phones come with, just like mms. You can not send it, and when received you have to logon to some website, I found it very annoying. Not sure about you, but besides some extra futures I feel like owning a verizon phone again.

I send mms as email to my wife all the time. It goes out from my iPhone as an email but she gets it as an mms on her V3XX. I'm not sure about other carriers, but AT&T phones have an mms email address. Just email your "mms" to the cell number like this 0001112222@mms.att.net but use the actual cell # obviously.

I am interested in the website to login to check received mms. What website is this. I have never heard about this before.

Thanks

I sadly found out today that the iPhone DOES NOT support data transfer via Bluetooth. I attempted to sync my contacts from my PocketPC (PPC-6700 running Windows Mobile 5.0) and also my more basic, Samsung M610. I could not get the iPhone to maintain the pairing with either device. I also could not accomplish the transfer of contacts (or any other information) to the iPhone from either device (via Bluetooth). I spoke with Apple support and was informed that the Bluetooth on the iPhone only supports handsfree (I.E., Pair with vehicle handsfree or Bluetooth Headset). I was truly disappointed to learn this. I was so used to Bluetooth data syncing with my other two devices. I will say though, other than this problem. The iPhone is an amazing piece of electronics.
Hey guys Bluetooth file transfer between iPhones/iPod touches is now available on the app store. Just search for BlueWaves. There are some decent updates coming so keep an eye out.

There is an os limitation that will prevent syncing with non iPhone/iPod devices but I do rekon Apple will lift that bar in the future.

Yes I am the developer, just trying to ease some people's iPhone woes.
