bookmarks on iPhone

is there any way to back them up? i've read one post that mentioned syncing the safari bookmarks basically nukes the contents of the iPhone bookmarks, is that true?

i don't necessarily want to sync everything, but i'd like to keep a copy of them somehow. pushing the iPhone bookmarks into safari would be fine, as i use firefox 99% of the time anyway.

figured i'd ask before i go try this, so i don't loose anything...

Not sure what you are asking. You can sync the same bookmarks you have on Safari to your iPhone.

i'm asking about syncing the OTHER way. iPhone to safari. i've read that the sync overwrites your iPhone with whataver is in safari, and thats what i'm trying to confirm so i don't loose all my bookmarks on my iPhone (that are not in safari)

what i read is correct, the first time you sync an iPhones bookmarks it overwrites the phone with safari (and deletes everything you had on the iPhone), after that initial sync/purge, the sync is two way. bleh

I was Googling the subject when I ran into this thread. I reckon the threadstarter won't be around to answer but I wonder if anyone else would help.

Am I correct in assuming this means that after I first sync bookmarks from Safari, there on forward, it will no longer replace any self-added bookmarks on my phone but instead do a "reverse sync" that loads them into Safari? Or will it continue to replace my personally added iPhone bookmarks with those from Safari everytime I sync?

I have a slew of new bookmarks and folders on my iPhone that I'd like to sync with Safari in order to keep things uniform.
