Camera broken.

I have an iPhone 4 if I'm correct, I'm having really bad camera issues; when I open the camera app the shutter appears to be closed and the phone reboots. Any ideas as to what it is, how to fix it, or what I should check? Could it be a virus?

Just restore from new and that should fix it. That's strange of how it reboots!

You can try doing a hard reset first. Won't remove data or anything. It's just a complete shutdown of the device.
Press and hold both the home a s sleep button together. When you see the slide to power off slider, KEEP holding them. When you see the Apple logo, then release both. It will take a bit longer for the phone to come back to a usable state ( maybe a minute or two )
See if that helps before trying a restore.

I tried the hard reset and it didn't work, the camera/video button also flickers. But my next question is what happens if I restore it when it's jailbroken? And should a back up my apps and stuff?

You might have a defective camera...You can get it replaced, I went through a company called iRepairFast, they have great prices and fast turnaround.. Link Below

It's 60 to 65 seconds from when you see the Apple logo. Btw
