Camera zoom gone with iOS 5 on iPhone 4

When the camera screen is open tapping the bottom used to bring the zoom slider up. Now with ios5 in my iPhone 4 all I get is a focal grid box.
Would someone tell me how to get the zoom bar back?

I just found it by pinching to zoom and then the zoom bar come up. Hey, it's Monday and my coffee has not kicked in yet LOL

Well, actually it's not so crazy. Previously, you could tap on the screen and the zoom slider would come up. Just letting you know you're not crazy.

Why would you want to do this it's digital zoom not
