A friend told me that Apple Music are not compatible with iPod nano/shuffle, but is it true? I mean they are from the same company, right? why are they still not compatile? is there any way to play Apple Music on iPod nano/shuffle? I want to know for sure before I actually buy iPod nano.

Apple Music won't work on an iPod Nano/Shuffle because they don't have WiFi capabilities. Music can't be streamed without WiFi and music can't be synced and stored on them since they don't have the Music app and WiFi to verify that the subscription is still active. Once the subscription is cancelled, offline songs no longer work. Since Apple wouldn't be able to tell that it was cancelled on a device without WiFi or data, they disabled Apple Music altogether on the iPod Nano/Shuffle.
