Stopped by Best Buy yesterday, set my iPhone into many of the iPod accessories, including the iHome and Bose products. The iPhone works with the all the iPod accessories they had on display although the iPhone had a disclaimer when I docked it stating the device I was docking to was "not supported...." and gives the option to set the phone in airplane mode" I think this has to do with interference the phone might create during iPod use.

Good Luck!

iPhone works with Bose SoundDock Speakers!

does anyone knows if the ipod bose speakers fit into the iPhone
Out of curiosity, just popped my iPhone into the Bose SoundDock System that I use with the iPods.

The iPhone screen popped up with a message: "This device is not designed to work with iPhone. Would you like to switch to Airplane mode to reduce interference? You will not be able to send or receive calls with this function selected."

Clicked "yes" on the screen. (doh)

Hit "Positive Vibrations" by Bob Marley on one of the playlists... and it's playing G R E A T!

S W E E T ! ! !

My guess is that any speakers; that have the large size iPod connection (not a Nano, etc.) will work with the iPhone/iPod. Maybe not with the clock/radio/speakers since the radio will pick up interference from the cell phone?

The longer I have iPhone... the more I LOVE IT!

Peace ;)

Glad that it worked for you. We really need to start a thread detailing which accessories work with the iPhone.

What do you mean by "not a Nano" connection? The full size iPods and the nanos both use the 30pin connector.

It seems like the iPhone works with most iPod accessories. The only problem is the GMS interference with the speakers. I use mine at work and ths noise is horrible. Granted, I can turn airplane mode on but then I would not be able to receive phone calls which I do not want. I kept my iPod because of this. Hopefully someone will come out with some speakers that can shield the interference. I would pay extra for this. :)

Bose sounddock works fine with the iPhone. I have one in my office which I use most of the day while at work. A nice benefit is that the iPhone is charging while in the base.

I get a Lot of interference at my desk between my iPhone and Bose companion speakers. Looks like I'm keeping my iPod around as well...

LG (Cingular) Speakers.

I have been very happy with the small foldable portable speakers from Cingular (LG). You can find them online, for a price of 30.00-45.00. They have something in them that prevents the noise that other speakers have. The sound for their size is amazing. The built in battery holds a charge for up to 2 weeks depending on usage. The only speakers I have found that do not make noise with the iPhone. Portable Stereo Speakers Model MSP-100. You can Google for them.
