I havnen't found a game that is Playable on the nes emulator. I understand that it is just the beginning and thats how things work but I still can not find myself ENJOYING any games that I play.

I look forward to updates to the control scheme. It still seems rather difficult to control, (Using both portrait and landscape)

Thoughts?

I agree. It's cool to have, but not being able to press two buttons simultaneously is a disadvantage and makes gameplay difficult. Some games are almost playable, but the others make me feel like I suck (which I don't).

I kind of wish they would let me play in landscape with buttons going up and down instead of left to right. Might not have the orginal nes feel, but would feel a lot better in my hand.

Something like this:

Sorry to bust your bubble but horizontal play IS availble. Either way the controls are tough. And YES I do play final fantasy because it is turn based. You really can't play any action or platform games.

I keep getting owned by the first goomba in mario 1-1

It's kind of cool, every new phone that comes out it's only a matter of time before someone releases an NES emulator for it. I was amazed at how quickly something was released for the iPhone. I can't wait until this software matures...

But now that we know Apple is working on games for the iPhone... well... all I can say is SWEET! :laugh2:

I am in the middle of compiling a list of games that are playable on the iPhone. I am going to divide it into two lists, Playable, and Requires a Learning Curve.

Right now I can tell you the list of playable games is tiny. The games that have a learning curve comprise a longer list. I'm on the fence about a few games like RC ProAm, there are times i can play perfectly, yet immediately after drive stuck in circles on the next course.

Some advice to those who are having difficulty:

1- Use the very tips of your fingers. Touch very very lightly to discover wgere your finger tips actually are. The smaller the contact patch, the more accurate your input will be.

2- Practice playing Pacman to train your muscle memory as to where the Dpad "+" is in relation to how you fold your hand when playing.

Galaga plays awesome on the latest build.

Sweet old game :D
Are you stopping to shoot?

I removed this game from my "playable" list because of that fact. I couldn't ever reliably move and shoot at the same time, and if I did, it would get stuck moving a direction.

I'm using nervgas' .38 which I think is current, I can't tell with his releases sometimes.

edit- Nope, it's .40 now, LoL

Its fully playable for me. Just roll your thumb over the movement button back and forth with out removing your thumb. You can go back and forth and shoot pretty easy. I just keep my finger on the fire button and it auto shoots :D

Yeah, I just realized this after I read your initial post. I had to figure out for myself what was making this game playable.

Thanks for this tip, I've added it back to my Roms list. I ranked it a 3 though, instead of a perfect 1. Galaga is about Accuracy and ditching that aspect for playability knocks it down a couple pegs imho. That hold + shoot method works really well once you've got dual ships.

Oh yeah, here's my list of games I feel are playable, you're all welcome to add to the list and help it grow!
