The other day I was using the calculator, and the the X key does not work . The same happens to any other command on the same location of screen. I have not drop the phone yet, its very strange, i am for sure taking it to the Apple store , hopefully they can exchange it. Anyone else with the similar problem?

Wow, that sucks.....did you try a hard reset, just for the heck of it?

I've actually heard quite a few people experience this problem. Definitely take it back to the Apple store.

Oh, MAN....if that happens to me, i'm gonna have to mail mine off again. lol

No Apple stores in my whole state. lol
Hopefully this will not happen to mine, though I have to say the Apple store has not been a good experience for me. This weekend I had my speaker stop working and my receiver. I suspect it was the sensor in the phone jack, but anyway. I went to the Apple store, in the end the guy was said they cannot do exchanges since we are past 14 days, to which I very politely said, you are on crack if you think that a 23 day old device is going to be sent in for repairs. He told me that I could have a loaner, for 30$, while mine is in for repair.

Of course I again, asked if he was smoking crack (not my exact words). He went to see if the 30$ fee could be waved, when he returned he said it could. I told him that was fine as I was going on a trip for 2 weeks (which is true) and then he said that is a major problem for two reasons. The loaner is not allowed to be out that long, and when they try to deliver the phone to my home it will go back to Apple and there is no way to assure that if that happens I will ever get my phone back (that made me feel good.....). So the manager in the end, stressed that what she was about to do is not something they are allowed to do and should never expect this to occur again, she exchanged it for a new one.

So in the end I got a new phone, but was a royal pain in the a$$ for sure.

Wow, that's not been the story I've read from most people. I mean, it's under warranty, and if it's not working properly, and isn't physically damaged, I think you have every right to a full exchange. That's retarded.

Yes, this happened to me last week. When I went to the Apple store the guy said mine was the 3rd one that he'd seen with this problem, and he said it all occurred at the same spot on the screen (the area of the shuffle button in ipod).

It really sucks too, because my new phone seems cheaper than the one I got on iday. The screen isn't as sharp (I have the "new" 7 model LCD and I DO notice the difference - it's freaking blurry!) and when I press the home button the bezel moves ever so slightly. Also the panning works differently. My old one would lock in one direction when I scrolled up so I could scroll through a long webpage quite quickly. Now I have to be extra careful not to pan to the side. It's so aggravating!

Oh, and a little hint: before you bring your phone into the Apple store, close any internet windows about iPhone hacking. They don't like that. The attitude of the genius immediately changed when he saw that. Funny story, maybe I'll share in another thread.

I would be interested in hearing this, if there's any funny dialog included. :)

This happened to my phone as well. The bottom of the screen stopped working. I had to send it back, I couldn't type anything on the bottom of the keyboard. If I went to hit back space, or space, or symbols it would hit the buttons above it.

Tried restore, reset, etc. Nothing. Then it stunk because I couldn't set my email password back so I couldn't get email heh.

The replacement then sent me (loaner) had horrible screen. Luckily the new one they sent me was the good old sharp screen whoo hooo!
