its actually the most reliable piece on your iPhone, the willitblend video showed that everything else in the iPhone blended but the chrome part was still in its original shape.

Mine has a lot of very small scratches when you hold it close to light? NO?

My phone is normally in my pocket (I refuse to put anything else in there with the phone) in the sync cradle or laying on its backside. So scratching the chrome is almost impossible for me.

Mine has a couple of small scratches, and it's never been outside of it's DLO silicone case since day 1.

It's going to scratch, and obviously you will be able to see the "very small scratches" when you hold it to the light. But seriously, who is going to see them besides you because your the only one who knows that they are there. Its fine as long as its not the screen.

Mine has a few small scratches after only a week of use. Very gentle use I might add! I'm basically afraid to use this baby! The chrome does not seem to be of high quality. Yes, it may stand up to a blend-tech, but doesn't seem to be very scratch resisitant. I haven't quite put my finger on it yet but something seems different about this kind of chrome as compared to my gen 4 iPod. Overall it seems to me that the iPod is little more durable. I sorta wish they would have made the iPhone feel this durable. Does anyone else get this impression?

And the real kicker is if you have a case it makes the scratches worse!
Is there any real proctive cases out there that will not scratch the phone....i had the clear Belkin case but after reading the nightmare posts off and in the trash it went! I am looking at the Sena full i leather skin case so here goes another experiment! Why cant someone make a case that has rubber seals on a clear case to keep it sealed against dust and prevents it from shifting in the case ... the other problem is the chrome ends wher most case borders begin this is why sooooooo many cases are scratching the chrome on a nother note a few friends said that the dock also scratches the chrome when placing in and out so i will only use the plug and not risk damage. at the Apple store the display phones were all scratched esp the back black plastic due to the dock so be carfull!
