Back up and running!
Just wanted to update you all. Hats off to the Apple store! The place was packed when I walked in. The "greeter" at the front door asked me how he could help me and when I told him that I had an iPhone that crashed he said to go directly to the "Genus" desk and tell them why I was there. There were people everywhere that had made appointments waiting. When I told one of the genus guys why I was there he immediately stopped what he was doing to assist me. People that had been waiting got a little upset actually. Anyway, I explained the Yellow triangle of death, actually it is a large yellow triangle with an explaination point in the middle and underneath it says synch to iTunes. I told him that I couldn't get it to restore and he said thay he would take it to the back and he would try. Within maybe ten minutes at the most he was out with a brand new phone. He said that it was not software but rather a complete hardware failure. No I did not try adding ringtones! LOL They replaced the sim card and I brought it home and synced and it activated within minutes. What was interesting was that wallpaper, ringtone, etc were restored without me doing anything. Apparently iTunes had backed up the phone. All I had to do was resync photos, music, etc. and the thing is up and running. I will mention that the pictures in my Camera Roll were lost. I would suggest moving these to your PC picture folders every so often. I was more than impressed with the way the Apple store handled the situation. Thank you to the bunch that said NOT to take it back to AT&T.
