I got Datacase and it doesn't seem to be working for me. I have Window XP & I do have a wifi connection. I followed the instructions on their website. I get an error about a proxy being set. I'll post that error later today when I get home.
Then lets do it! If iPods can do it why can't the iPhone! I would love disk usage!I bet Apple wants only iTunes to have access to the iPhone USB.
Your bet is correct, for official apps there's no programmatically way to get to the USB connection.I bet Apple wants only iTunes to have access to the iPhone USB.
Did you see that apps made $30m in its first 30 days? Apple gets a whopping 30% of that cut. Then lets do it! If iPods can do it why can't the iPhone! I would love disk usage!
It finally worked. What did it for me was NOT putting in that final "/" after the ip address. Yay!i purchased datacase and it works perfectly for me with my vista laptop.
make sure you use file explorer (windows explorer...not the browser) and type in ftp://xxx.xxx.x.x:xxxx that is listed in your iPhones datacase main screen for you to access the shared drive on your iPhone
I have DataCase and I'm loving it. I have a Vista laptop and an XP desktop and both are working-- they have a tutorial video for Windows users up on the veiosoft.com website.Damn. I wanted to put a .mov on Datacase since I can't play it through normal iTunes. But, Datacase says it's not supported either. Pooh.![]()
I eventually converted my .mov to the iPhone format using Videora. I was hoping the .mov would play through DataCase but I guess I was getting my hopes up too high.I have DataCase and I'm loving it. I think your .mov problem might be that the resolution is too high or some other file characteristic is unacceptable.
Try this-- http://www.brothersoft.com/downloads/mov-to-iphone.html
It's free and the reviews look good. I don't have a preferred widget for solving these format/file problems, I just download a few when I have an issue and one usually works. Might check download.com too.
I believe something like THIS is what you are looking for, no?im thinking about getting this, but most of the computers i use (if not all of them) don't have wireless on them. im thinking if is it possible to go and buy some sort of usb wifi stick or something that i can carry around with me and hook up to a computer and sync it that way. does anyone know if this would work?
yeah, something like that... do you think it would work? i don't want to have to spend the money on it and find out it doesn't workI believe something like THIS is what you are looking for, no?
I believe this is used for desktops and laptops to access an existing wi-fi signal. Not the other way around. I don't think you can connect this to a computer with a LAN internet connection and transmit the internet over wi-fi.I believe something like THIS is what you are looking for, no?
So what you are saying is that you will either have to have one or the other, correct?I believe this is used for desktops and laptops to access an existing wi-fi signal. Not the other way around. Well, in the end, I think you need a wi-fi signal to upload/download.So what you are saying is that you will either have to have one or the other, correct?
