Delete w/o going through edit

I've noticed in SMS and emails that I can swipe left to right (like the unlock motion) across a message when they're in the main list and it will put the little red (-) sign in front of the SMS or email, allowing me to delete it. This is not at the edit menu, simply in the list view.
