Do moving graphics work on the iPhone for wallpaper?

I put a .gif file on the phone and it does not move. It would be so hot if we could have moving graphics as our wallpapers. Does anyone know if this is possible?

Sorry if this has been asked before.

I don't think it's possible. Plus, I think it would eat up the battery more than it needs to.

It would not really eat up that much battery because it's not always on. Regular cell phones have it so this should support it also.
Which is kinda what I was gonna say.
It's pointless, because the only time you see the wallpaper is for the split second before you unlock it.

#1 Battery Would drain like crazy
#2 you never see the wallpaper only for that second unlocking why would you want that anyways?
