Does RadioShack offer the iPhone?

I went to radioshack today and asked them if they would be getting the iPhone on launch day... all 4 of them looked at me like? what's an iPhone? So they looked it up on the computer. they said they would not be getting them on launch but would have them a month or 2 after...

But they did tell me that if I was eligible for an upgrade the iPhone would be 150 to 200 $ cheaper... But who knows if they really know what they are talking about... come on they didn't even know what an iPhone was!

AFAIK, the iPhone will be exclusively sold at Apple and AT&T stores. I'm pretty sure it'll stay that way, those guys were just talkin through their butt.

Well it is an att/cingular store. Thats how they got the infomation to tell me if I was able to upgrade.

I think it has to be an actually branded cingular / AT&T store, not a reseller like radioshack, best buy, compUSA, etc. A brick & mortar store that has a big sign out front that says "CINGULAR" or "AT&T".

Price break?

When wass the lst time you saw Apple reduce their price on a new product two months down the road?

I don't think you will see any price reductions on this product for a while.....if you ever do. This is an entirely new product when you think about it. Nothing out there compare if all the Apple hype is correct.

Thats what I was telling the guy at radio shack. When I bought my macbook from compUSA. The guy told me that Apple sets their prices, so the store cannot mark up or lower their prices to make a little extra profit or lower and bring in more customers and sell more.

They'll probably get the iPhone eventually, but I doubt they'll get it right now. I visited one last week and they told me they would get it before Wal*Mart (another Cingular agent), but they didn't specifically tell me they would have it for the release.
