I don't believe Apple is offering in-store repairs. But it never hurts to ask.

They'd probably have to mail it in, and of course, that kind of damage isn't covered under the 1 yr warentee. And the "fix" might be a $599 repair part (named: new iPhone).

Did they happen to give you any idea of the cost for something like this? Are you going to have them replace the case, or just try to get the mute button working and leave the case the way it is?

No they did not give me a price, the case really isn't damaged at all except for the dent that doesn't allow the button to switch on and off, after playing with it for a little i can turn the switch but i have to use my fingernail and it takes longer than it should

Damn, that sucks, hopefully they'll take care of it for you. I've dropped my phone twice already :( Luckily it was on carpet and fell directly on the back both times.

Can you clarify exactly what's happening?

Are they repairing your phone at your cost and gave you a 'loaner' phone to use while yours is being repaired?

Or...

Did they replace your phone and give you a brand new phone to keep?

I promise you, what arrives at your house will not be the phone that you purchased. You will get a new one, and it will have the 7 series screen...etc.

That's what I've gathered from the posts all over the internet. You never get your original phone back. That's why I will do everything in my power to fix whatever may happen to my phone myself. Mine, so far, is a flawless LCD version 5.

YMMV.

Yup, I’m with you there. By the way do you still use your incase? So far no problems yet in terms of scratches? I still use my incase and added the bodyguardz sheet for the back and the crystal film set for my screen. I know it’s over kill but I know that it’ll give me some protection to lets say something like the iPhone falling of my sweatshirt pocket and into my kitchen floor.;)

No offence to the OP.:)

jesus looked like you slammed it, thats too big of a dent,
Dent didn't look big to me at all; just the location looked bad, right at the sound switch. The back case dents easily. Don't ask me how I know...
