I had no problems yesterday getting my accounts set up. I was able to receive and send e-mails, but today I can receive e-mails but I can't send. I keep getting a rejected by server error message.

Anybody else having this issue?

Mine has worked just fine from setup (yesterday at 7:30pm) through today.

What specifically are you having trouble with?

Would you happen to know the easiest way to transfer my contacts from Outlook 2003 to my Yahoo email account?

Your thoughts would be appreciate!

mine suddenly started to work, too. Was having trouble with voicemail, but that worked about the same time. Maybe a congested network?

If anyone can receive email but can't send email and want a quick fix solution

under smtp use att's smtp...
cwmx.com:25

If you are outside their network and try to use them for outgoing mail, they kick it back. They suggest using port 587 rather than the default 25

cwmx.com is AT&T's smtp server -- it will work if you are using EDGE, because that is an AT&T service, but note that it will not work whenever the iPhone switches to wifi.

Well that sucks.
Just got the same error message.
Is this something that can be fixed at some point or is it just something we will always have to deal with?
Is it an AT&T issue?

its an att outgoing server so if your not using att internet connection then it won't work. If your using someone elses wifi connection, all I can say is use web base mail or if you need to send something switch to EDGE right away and then go back to the wifi. Or you can call your email provider and ask for the smtp information and ports

Email issue

I'm on the phone with Apple and they are aware of this issue. I hope to have some answers shortly.

For Outgoing Mail Server leave the User Name and Password empty. It does say it's optional.

I never could send mail and just could receive it, that is, until I figured out what might have been the problem.

I went into settings, tapped on mail, then my account, then saw Host Name. It was set up as smtp.comcast.net. So I tapped on that to see what I might be able to do with it, and immediately it switched to pop3.comcast.net and when I went and tried to send my wife a message it worked perfectly.

Good Luck!
