iMac Early 2009 iMac, To upgrade to SSD or not?

I love my iMac, and I am contemplating having a 256 SSD drive installed. There is nothing wrong with my current hard drive, just want to upgrade to benefit from the apparently huge speed increase benefit. Has anyone done this? Was it worth it? Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Not on a Mac, but my Windows 7 drive is an ADATA SSD. Huge speed increase.

I think you may have misunderstood me. I was just relating my experience on my Windows setup. I imagine an SSD would be blazing fast on your iMac as well.

Loading Windows 7 in about 20 seconds is nice. Large apps load much faster on my SSD.
