Earphones Listening to Music – Bass Crackle

Anyone has issues with the bass response using the supplied earphones? Even at a low volumn (say around 30-40%), I'm getting breakup in the bass.
Connection with my sound system is OK

I've haven't tried other earphones yet

Yep, I hate it. I don't understand why everyone has been so impressed with iPod/iPhone earphones, I've always thought they sucked. And until they start offering new earphones that work with the iPhone microphone, we are pretty stuck here...

I'm not getting any bass crackle at all. Volume level at about 60-80%. The headphones are rather tinny with not much frequency response in the low end, but no distortion.

Are you using the EQ? (don't)
