I agree. Plus, after trying them out, still far short of noise isolation headphones by a large margin. But they are a step up from the previous versions.
They sound good, but hurt my ears after wearing them for long periods. They just are not as comfortable in my ears as the old style.
I really love mine. They stay in the ears and much more comfortable than the original ones. The sound is far better too with a rich bass sound. I like that they are all one piece with no rubbery tips that can come off like some others I have.
My wife hasn't even opened hers yet. I wonder if I can convince her today. I've been. Dying to try them. Lol

I hate "directional" ear buds...not to sound childish, but who are they to tell me which ear to use them in?!?! I had the same problem with my Beats earbuds...only meant to go in one way. Why not make a left ear version also?
I know they are more money, but I will take these http://store.apple.com/us/product/MA850G/B/apple-in-ear-headphones-with-remote-and-mic?fnode=49 over the new pods any day. I can put the mic on either side.

I don't notice any change from the old ones other than they fall out of my ears just as much if not more. Guess it's one area I'm kinda disappointed with Apple in.
