I'm in upstate N.Y. And we didn't feel anything.
It seems that so far there's only structural damages and only around 30 miles from the center of the quake. I hope everyone is safe. 5.9 is strong enough to bring down buildings.

The National Cathedral reportedly has damage to 3 of the 4 spires of the main tower which itself appears to have shifted, according to early reports. DC commuter traffic is reported in chaos. The local TV stations haven't shown such wall-to-wall coverage since the last major snowfall of the past winter. Hurricane Irene is up next ... film at 11.

For a moment there I thought the earth finally opened and swallow the phillies.

But seriously, hope there are no injuries!

Everything's good here.
Great to hear, at first you have no clue what's going on. I understood why we felt it all the way here, I actually thought that the earthquake happened here, once I heard it happened that far away I feared the worse. I learned a lot about earthquakes today.
we had one near carini Sicily a long time ago, I was too young to remember, but we do get earthquakes in Italy, the last one at aquila was really bad.
