EDGE not working in Pittsburgh area?

You're welcome. Im glad its helping some people. Most likely you just need to renew your network connection by the COLD reboot.

Back up in Phoenix Az. did not perform a reboot of the phone, wait this is Apple not Microsoft :p

Tell that to my iBooks.

Seems like it might be back up in ABQ - I just got a dump from my email but am unable to access web or YouTube... Here's hoping it's all starting to come together! ::fingers crossed::

Did anyone else's battery go dead really fast today because of all this EDGE stuff? I started today with a full battery, now it's completely dead because it was trying to connect all day.
Anyone else?

yes mine went out pretty fast... it's sad that they're having so many problems with EDGE.. it's so old and obsolete in Japan and Europe.. isn't the US supposed to be the #1 country in the world? but all late with technology? and can't even get it to work.. so sad

Anyone else having probs with EDGE? I cant get any websites to load right now.
It wasn't working in Tulsa OK this afternoon. Another user with his Treo was able to access the internet and check his email. Nothing worked for me on the iPhone.

Still having really bad EDGE issues, lots of dropped calls (with full bars?). I called and go through to an Apple person after 20 minutes. She said it was on AT&T's side and that it was common. AT&T people apparently are transferring anytime they hear iPhone even though the EDGE/service issues are on AT&T's side. She suggested I avoid saying the iPhone at all costs and kick and scream if they say to transfer (last time she transferred w/o saying anything or giving me a chance to explain).

She actually seemed to encourage me to complain to AT&T and cancel the service and return the phone if I didn't get the right service within 2 weeks. I "shouldn't have to put up with terrible service" but was quick to thank me for "giving Apple's phone a try."

Got a case # with my complaints setup, on hold with AT&T now...

GAH! Spoke with a rep for 30 minutes. She says I had great coverage in the area I was at, the towers seemed up and working, she was going through some different systems and such and then she puts me on hold. 10 seconds later - line goes dead. CURSES! She seemed to indicate that it may "simply may be that the edge is not that good in your area." Lovely.

Might be my area having issues other than the outage originally being discussed, unless there's interest - I'll hold off on posting every detail here unless I get another tidbit that might be useful to everyone not just me.
