Email Connects but doesn't download

I have connected to my work POP server. It is connected, set up successfuly. I look at my inbox - there is nothing there. It says "load 25 more messages." No messages. I hit the update button - says connecting, then stops, but no messages. No error message. I know it's not any of the connection issues, I can use the exact same settings on my treo and no problem - it downloads all the email (it is set everywhere to say "don't remove from server").

My home pop account works fine on the iPhone slicker than snot. So the iPhone does work, just not with my work account.

Tried deleting and restoring the account.

What gives? Anybody have the same problem? This is definitely an iPhone issue. Didn't see anyone else with same prob.

I have the same problem with my work email account! I entered the same info from my old phone and on the iPhone all I get is the same "load 25 more messages" message.. Anyone have an answer?

Figured out the workaround

Gmail is the answer. I set up gmail to automatically "fetch" my email from my work account, and then I hooked up the gmail account to my iPhone. Works like a charm.

Basically the mail from my work server gets "sucked" by gmail at regular intervals, and then I just set up the gmail account and it gets pulled into my iPhone.

I'm assuming that some third party solution will come up in the near future, in the meantime, this works for me. And it was quite easy to set up.

Still goofy that I can't hook into my work server and get the messages..but since gmail can, I'm okay.
