Everything iPhone Server Move

Just a heads up that EI will be moving servers this week. As with any move of this magnitude, there is a slight possibility of downtime. I'll do what I can to make it a smooth transition. The new servers will provide for a superior user experience here at EI and help with the anticipated growth that should come with the iPhone release. If all goes well, the only thing you should notice is a better, faster experience. I'll update this thread when the move is complete, but expect sometime around mid-week for everything to be in place.

Looks the move is going to come a bit late. I apologize for all the down time last night as the site received a massive spike in traffic after a certain company ran some commercials. You might have seen something about it. Anyway, I'm doing everything in my power to keep the site online today and appreciate your patience. I'm hoping to start the transition to the new servers today and plans have changed to expedite the move. The new servers should have no difficulty handling the traffic. Then again, who knew that after midnight on a Sunday would bring excessive hits causing the site to keep going down.

I'll provide updates in this thread.

We are going to have a planned 10 minute outage as they work on the current server. This should increase performance pre-move.

Outage is over. Existing server update completed. Still working on the server move. Will update when complete.

Sorry for the continued outages. The old server is struggling with the traffic spike. I'm still hopeful that we'll be able to get the move to the new servers happening this evening.

The new home for EIP is setup and the data migration will occur at midnight tonight. I'm going to close posting on the "old server", so we don't lose any posts in the transfer. You can check either this thread or the announcements which are at the top of all forums. This will let you know that you are on the new server and of course posting will be active.

Downtime 0%. Uptime 100%.
