I need some easy instructions of how to install SSH.. all the other instructions are just so confusing i don't know what im doing!

Download file from link, Extract the sshKit, run sshify-windows.bat
Follow instructions on screen....your done

To gain access on iPhone...Download putty from
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html
I downloaded the 1st one from ftp
Go to wifi settings on iPhone and get your ip
load up putty.... type in ip address... and make sure Port is 22
when it asks for login or username.... type in.... root
password, type in .... dottie
Then your in
this is pissing me off! i cant get this to work! i tried putty and WinSCP and it keeps telling me ( Network Error: Permission Denied )

If you have a Mac then use terminal..
Applications>Utilities>terminal
then at the cmd line...
ssh user@ipaddress
user is the user you need to login with and IP address *should* be the address of the phone
it will then prompt you for a password, which I do not know b/c I haven't modded my iPhone......... yet

maybe wrong password... password is dottie
Username for PC\MAC = root
Password for PC\MAC = dottie (unless changed by you)
still didn't work and i have never changed it. this is my ip address. does this sound right

Yes that sounds about right.... Not sure what it could be. What proggy are you using to access it?
Make sure you have SCP selected in the dropdown window in WinSCP... Also, try usings Putty.... its not a simple drag and drop like Winscp, but its a start to trying to find out the issue. Also, make sure the port is allowed in your firewall settings.

When typing in Linux\Unix, the cursor stays in same position, just type in password and hit enter....your in
Theres been tutorials and things of that nature already created, just search for them and your set.
You can also try modmyiPhone.com and go to the Mac forum for modding.
