Free Phone Calls at Apple Store?

This reminds me, everytime I go into my local Apple store (VA) there is this same guy in there making calls on the demo iPhones. Without a doubt, while I am there someone will see the iPhone sitting on the counter next to the guy (of course attached to the security wire) and go to pick it up. The guy immediately jumps on them and says in a loud voice "I'm using this." I think he brings his own earbuds since he always has them on and I have yet to see Apple put out the earbuds (probably due to theft).
So, I was thinking, maybe he brings his list of long distance calls he has to make for the day and does them all there for free. I was in there once for over an hour (shopping/fooling around) and sure enough he was there the entire time talking on it. Sometimes I'll even pretend to play with the one next to him and listen to his calls. Very interesting calls.
I think next time I want to call my relatives long distance I'll wait till I go to the Apple store!

No way...if dude has enough balls to make 1+ hours worth of calls no telling what he would do to me if I hung up on one of his calls.
Aw hell, I'd do it.

Maybe alert the staff about him? Maybe they can use the "We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone" thing.

Guys like this will ruin it for everyone else. Why do you think MySpace is filtered out at most Apple stores now? To many people hogging the machines to update their myspace. Surprised the store manager hasn't done something about this by now.

Yes. Black guy, probably in his late 30's to early 40's.
Last time I saw him was this past weekend, wearing jean shorts, a white shirt and a white hat. If I recall correctly, I think he had a white/greyish short beard.
Wow, I have a pretty good memory. If all else fails, I guess I could stalk him.

LOL

Let's hold a fundraiser

Someone should go in and take pictures of the guy and then someone go up and ask the guy if he's buying the phone or just going to keep using it day after day for making calls?

I bet you the guy goes nuts and starts acting indignant. That the store employees haven't done it to this point shows they are not looking to have that bomb go off.

I say we hold a fundraiser for the guy who starts fighting with the guy over the phone. Then someone else should get it on video.

It would be a video hit!

Each time I am there the store is PACKED. There are two large tables with about 6-8 iPhones on each (all attached to security wires). The tables are usually at capacity, especially on the weekends, and often time others are waiting patiently to try them out.
I don't really think it is my place to tell the Manager. If the Manager and his/her staff have not noticed this then they are truly oblivious.
Next time I see him I am going to wait (for however long it takes) until he is done. Then I am going to check the phone for the last calls and see where he is calling.
You know what also just dawned on me? As I mentioned he brings in his own earbuds. Now that I think about it I have seen him click the button on the earbuds to end calls. Don't these just come with the new iPhones? If so, he must have one. This is truly insulting as he has one and comes to the store solely to make calls for free.
