Game Center must die!

Has anyone found a way to disable Game Center completely? I've searched the web and here and haven't seen any real solutions.

I hate the pop-up when trying to play certain games just for relaxation. Competitive play, for me, takes over and the game becomes less relaxing. Instead of achieving calming, I'm experiencing the tension that goes with competition. Some games (makers) don't understand that I'm happy NOT competing.

I'm going to have to agree. Not because I have anything at all against Game Center personally, but just because the post title is so cool.

I suggest asking the mods to add 'The Official' at the beginning of it.

Yeah, it would still give regular pop-ups alerting you that it's disabled, so go sign in to use it!

I think the Game Center UI is ugly. I like the concept and the idea behind it, but the presentation is puke-inducing.

Oh, one more thing, your status (mine is "Huh?") is shown twice on that screen. Once would have been enough.

Not sure if this will help anyone or not, but you can disable some of GC's functions by enabling restrictions in Settings->general->restrictions:
