Hello,

I have the Harman/Kardon Drive and Play iPod interface (with the wheel and LCD) installed in my car and tested it with the iPhone today. Wen connected the iPhone says that this accessories is not compatible with the iPhone message... but the it works very well though like it does with the ipod. You can navigate through playlists and all the functions including charging the iPhone. I am happy about that:)

I must say, I'm also happy with this phone for that feature. I had an iPod dock, now my iPhone hooks up with no problem what so ever ! :)

i have this device in my element. i use it for my ipod throught the wired fm modulator. sounds okay with a little static in the background, but that is to be expected. the iPhone does work with this device but there is a lot of interference from the phone heard through the car stereo. When the phone rings, even more interference. if you put the phone into airplane mode there is no interference at all. that is the drive and play 1. i have no frame of reference for the newest drive and play.

with the wired fm transmitter on the the hk d+p1 i have a lot of interference. it may be a situation of the location of the phone to the head unit of my car. do to the length of cable that comes with the dp1 and the location of the control box of the dp1 in my car, my ipod and iPhone are no more than 18 inches away from the head unit, and i do get a lot of interference when the iPhone is not in airplane mode, but not any more interference than any other fm transmitter that close to the head unit with the iPhone.
i would also recommend getting the wired fm transmitter for the dp1 because of the poor strenth of the wireless fm transmitter. especially if you live in any moderatley populated area. also the last time i looked crutchfield.com was giving the wired module for free with the purchase of the dp1.
also i used it before with firmware 1.0.2, no difference after the upgrade.

Does the iPod touch or iPhone also charge when connected to the HK driver and play? I have a Belkin device that works fine with my older iPod, and while it works with the iPod touch for audiop and playing, it will not charge the iPod touch.

No, it does not charge. With the Scosche adapter it works great though.
