Since Transformers III got its own thread, I believe Harry Potter deserves one as well because in my opinion it is a much better movie.

So who's watching it? It's going to be released in Egypt today. My friends and I have been eagerly waiting for it since Part 1 so I won't miss this chance!

Don't tell anyone but I'm really looking forward to watching this. I've read all the books (which have been better than the films, they always are) and thoroughly enjoyed them!

I haven't read the books because I'm not a fan of reading, but I'm thinking of doing so now that I've watched all the parts except the last one which I hopefully will today, in order to compare and contrast.

This is why I always read books first, you let your own imagination run wild creating images which you perceive to be correct and true to the story. Your imagination is better than anything you read or watch.

This is exactly why I watch movies first. I'm a very visual person and I imagine what is going on. When I imagine something and the movie doesn't match, I get very disoriented and confused. Except, I obviously read the Harry Potter books before the movies.

I tried to read the first Harry Potter book once, but it was written too much for kids for me to enjoy it.
What you have to remember about the Harry Potter books is that they age with the kids in the stories. The first book is written on a 5th grade reading level while the 8th book is at about a 9th grade reading level. They get increasingly darker and more adult-like as the characters age. That's one thing I liked about them. They age with my students.

Well the trailers of the 2nd part showed that it looked epic, and my GF is pestering me to watch it with her. Hoped it would be good. I hate watching long movies like this one.

I have enjoyed watching Harry Potter movies. I haven't read any of the books. I know it was catered for children in the beginning, but I thought the movies were well made with great special effects. I will no doubt see this movie once all the hype dies down.

I had a good time. They're fun movies (not high art), and this one wrapped up the series nicely.

I haven't read the books either. I'm not sure I would have liked the movies as well if I had.

I just believe they tried to fit in all of the information of the final book into one movie that wasn't long enough to convey all the ideas. The movie lacked organization, in my honest opinion, and some things about it remain unanswered, but I can't say them here since that'd be a spoiler.

You know this was part 2 right? It was only the final third of the last book. As a dedicated potter fan they left nothing unanswered. I'm fact they explained things better in the movie than they did in the book IMO. The last third of the book was very chaotic. It was the final battle of a war.

It was an end fitting to the series. I loved it!
