a lot of people i know have one but use it only in the office or home and not in public too much
Has any one met other iPhone users in the public?

I'm in Ohio, don't know anyone who bought one, haven't seen another yet. We went to Gatlinburg, TN, last week and didn't see any there either. Just a bunch of ppl with hillbilly accents saying, "Hey, that's that iPhone...".
I work with hundreds of ppl, no one there that I know of has one. They all know I have one, of course, by the way I've been showing it off. One woman never even heard of an iPhone! And she is only around 27 yrs old!

Saw One in Reston, Virginia
While walking around Reston Town Center, during intermission of a band that was playing there, I saw a man who looked to be in his 40s showing his iPhone to someone else. I started to walk over to say "Hi" to a fellow iPhone owner, but my girlfriend thought that would be creepy. Suffice it to say, she doesn't have an iPhone, so she just doesn't understand!

My wife is the same way....She just doesn't understand. I think she's secretly jealous.
yo this thread is so ironic...i was just tlkn wit my brethren about this very thing...how bout i was in a subway a couple of hrs ago and the girl had one...i noticed the just the top of the phone...she had the belkin clear case...she let me hold it...i just held it...wow!...(i still haven't gottn mine yet)

I've had an iPhone since day 1 but I don't flaunt it in public to much. I have showed it to some people at meeting but if I'm walking around stores, down the street, etc. I try to keep it hidden for security purposes. Also one doesn't want to look they are just following the fad and showing off. As more people get them and they are common place they will start to blossom more. I normally keep it in my pocket and since it fits within your had it's actually less obvious that the smaller cell phone I had previously.
I saw one guy at the barber shop when I got my haircut the following saturday it was released. He was disappointed to see I got a 8gig since he got stuck with only the choice of a 4gig.
I have only talked to a couple of people when we were looking for cases for our iPhones in the accessories part of the Apple store, but outside of that I have yet to see one. I thought I would see more. As for me around some places I feel like someone's going to grab it and run so I am reluctant to even take it out in public. I did go to PF Changs in Newport Beach, CA yesterday and felt safe to use it there, everyone was staring!
