Has anyone transferred number from Sprint to AT&T?

So I finally decided to get the iPhone today. My sprint contract ends tomorrow. I want to transfer over my number so I hope that's easy, has anyone done it?

Anyways, I planned to activate it at midnight and I plugged it in just now. It says iPhone activations are not currently available due to scheduled AT&T maintenance, please connect it again after 3pm on sunday.

It's not that long but I'm very impatient.

Is it easy and fast to activate and get working?

Takes 5 minutes to activate, then a couple more depending on how much content you have to sync. Extremely simple.

It will take you longer to walk out to the street and grab the newspaper then it will to port over your number. Enjoy your new phone.

I transfered my number from Sprint last Friday. All in all, I had my number working on my iPhone within an hour. It was extremely easy and fast.

Activation is down until tomorrow 3 PM eastern time.

That means that you shouldn't restore until then because you'll just get stuck with a non-activated iPhone. haha.

Hopefully they are preparing for the update!

I guess we'll see tomorrow. :laugh2:

Well I don't think AT&T/Apple would just out of no where shut down activation for the hell of it...(I hope not haha). But I think that it'll be an update. We can only hope. :)

Even though a lot of people say AT&T is bad have you noticed if it's better than sprint? Because Sprint was absoluetely awful.

Also thanks everyone, can't wait until 3

Normally it only takes about five minutes, but when porting a number from a different carrier it can take longer. The first weekend was a nightmare for many people.

I was one of the people waiting online in the Apple store here in NYC in 5th ave. As soon as I got home started activation and in 1 hour I was all done and working wonderfully. Now, yesterday I restored my phone and well you already know... Gotta wait till 3.. Sucks to be without my phone... But yeah, really easy to get your number with att.

They're probably just trying to revamp the process. The company they're doing this through is Syncronoss.
